# cli-truncate [](https://travis-ci.org/sindresorhus/cli-truncate) > Truncate a string to a specific width in the terminal Gracefully handles [ANSI escapes](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ANSI_escape_code#Colors_and_Styles).
